Long Walk is Part of the Gift

We hear from customers every holiday season telling how they struggled with the annual gift-giving questions.   What do I get someone who already has everything?  What is the perfect gift to let my loved ones know how much I care for them?  What gift doesn’t get old but keeps giving joy throughout the year?

Then I start seeing the testimonials come in after customers receive their canvases.  They explain how they discovered Canvas on Demand.  And the fun they had sorting though boxes of photos to select just the right one for their spouse, the boss, that favorite aunt, and the others on their list.  And I want to assure all you readers, that the trick is selecting the right image that means the most to the receiver.  Then just upload it, and let us do the rest.

It is true that sorting and searching for that exact image may take awhile, but it will be worth every minute you put into it once the gift is opened.  Let me share one of my favorite holiday stories. A young teacher had gone to a remote coastal village in Africa to teach for a year.  She arrived just before the holiday season, so she explained to her students how gift-giving in America was a way of showing your love for someone.  One morning a young boy knocked at the door of her hut.  He proudly extended his hands, presenting her with a gift—a large and beautiful shell.  She gasped at the sight of the amazing shell and told him how lovely it was and how much she appreciated it…but then scolded him.  “I haven’t been here very long,” she told him, “but I know these magnificent shells are not found here in the village.  You had to walk a long distance up a treacherous shoreline to find this.  You must never walk so far from the village along such a dangerous route.”

The young boy replied:  “But long walk, part of gift.”

So, yes, it may take time to sort and search through many photos, but in the end, you will be satisfied that the long walk was simply part of your gift.  And after all, there’s still plenty of time!
